Whether you stay for two days or two weeks, The Beardslee Homestead lends itself to both family vacations and romantic couple getaways. You will never run out of things to do at The Beardslee Homestead nor tire of its natural beauty. You may not even want to leave The Homestead once you arrive.  If you do, however, there is so much to see in and around New Berlin, NY and within 90 minutes, including historic Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame, which is just 25 minutes away. Along the way to your destinations, Central New York has some of the most beautiful scenery in New York State, along with museums, libraries, natural wonders like waterfalls and lakes, places of pilgrimage, Amish neighborhoods, markets, and much more.  The Beardslee Homestead is also the perfect place to stay if you are coming to Upstate New York for a college graduation.  Colgate University, Hamilton College, Cornell University, Ithaca College, Syracuse University, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Delhi, SUNY Upstate Medical College, Utica College, and Lemoyne College are all from 25 to 90 minutes from the Homestead, with most under one hour.

The Beardslee Homestead and The Greco family congratulate The United States Navy League and the United States Navy on the 2023 Commissioning of the newest Littoral Combat Ship USS Cooperstown, named after historic Cooperstown.  The Homestead and the Greco family were among the sponsors of the ship.

New Berlin and Central New York

The Village of New Berlin in Central New York is historic and charming.  It features St. Andrew's church, built from stone excavated from The Beardslee Homestead, the Village Library and Museum with many artifacts from the Beardslee Homestead, the historic and beautiful stone Preferred Manor (a stop on the Underground Railroad; many other stops are short drives from the Homestead), Milbrook Beach, and the famous NY Pizzeria.

From 20 to 90 minutes by car along beautifully scenic roads are some famous historic, cultural, educational, religious, Civil War, Revolutionary War, and entertainment locations, many of which are listed below like historic Hamilton, Howes Cavern, the Earlville Opera House, and so much more.

At The Beardslee Homestead, you can have the perfect vacation of an elegant and historic home on the National Register of Historic Places, magnificent scenery, relaxing and educational activities connected to the land like agriculture, apple picking, wine making, and stargazing, Colonial American experiences like blacksmithing and knife making, cultural activities like the Earlville Opera House or Glimmerglass Music Festival, and all the while visiting nearby historic towns that played an important role in the history of New York and our country.

The Homestead is also close to stops on the wine and beer trails of both the Finger Lakes Region and the Hudson River Region.  Along the way, you may find craft distilleries, too, such as our own Masseria Distillery & Winery.
